Reception Rooms

'High ceilings, antique furniture, vast yet cosy rooms are what Lismacue is all about. Magnificent views of the Galtee mountains and rolling green fields can be seen from almost every aspect of this house'

Reception Rooms

You arrive at Lismacue House on an afternoon with a blazing fire snapping against the early evening chill. A silver tray of hot tea, coffee, and homemade scones awaits in the drawing room. You sink into the comfort of the sofas and marvel at the block-printed two-hundred-year-old wallpaper, the intricate gilt plasterwork, and the solid mahogany doors. This is the exclusive essence of Irish country life.

This same sense of grandeur unfolds throughout the reception rooms — a classically proportioned drawing room, dining room, breakfast room, and library, each with its own character and charm. Log fires warm the principal rooms on cooler evenings, complemented by full central heating throughout, while the original pine shutters remain on every window, a quiet nod to the house’s Georgian craftsmanship. Ideal for exclusive hire, intimate weddings, and gatherings, these rooms offer a setting as memorable as the occasion itself.

Inner Hall

The heart of the house, where the sweeping staircase rises beneath original cornicing — the first true glimpse of Lismacue’s Georgian grandeur.

The Drawing Room

Where guests gather before the fire, surrounded by the room’s original gilt plasterwork and two-hundred-year-old wallpaper.

Dining Room

A classically proportioned room set for gracious entertaining, where every meal feels like an occasion.

The Library

Lined with books and warmed by the fire, a quiet retreat for an afternoon read or a fireside conversation.

'Lismacue House is a living breathing piece of Irish history kept alive by the Nicholson Family. Highly highly recommend it.'
