Dining at Lismacue
Food is very much part of the Lismacue experience — from a leisurely breakfast to start the day, to a relaxed dinner by the fire in the evening. And when you fancy venturing further afield, some of Tipperary’s finest restaurants are just a short drive away.
Breakfast
Every stay at Lismacue includes a full breakfast, served each morning in our classically proportioned breakfast room. Guests wake to the smell of freshly brewed coffee and the promise of a hearty start to the day, with a menu built around fresh, local ingredients — from free-range eggs to homemade preserves and freshly baked bread.
It’s a moment to take in the room’s period charm, watch the morning light move across the parkland outside, and plan the day ahead, whether that’s a walk in the Galtees, a round of golf, or simply a slow morning by the fire.
For guests taking the house on an exclusive rental basis, a breakfast basket can be provided each morning instead, along with access to the kitchen if required — ensuring complete privacy for those who prefer to keep the house entirely to themselves.
Dinner at Lismacue
Prefer to stay in for the evening? Dinner is available on request, allowing you to relax by the fire and enjoy a delicious meal without venturing beyond the house. There’s a particular pleasure in an evening spent entirely within Lismacue’s walls — a glass of wine in the drawing room, a leisurely dinner in the dining room, and conversation that runs late into the night.
It’s an especially popular choice for those staying as part of a group or celebrating a special occasion, when the whole evening can unfold at your own pace, without a drive home at the end of it.
Dinner is prepared by Sarah, an accomplished cook with a deep knowledge of the area’s finest produce, drawing on the very best ingredients this part of Ireland has to offer. All dietary requirements can be catered for, so you can relax and simply enjoy the evening ahead.
Local Restaurants
For those keen to explore the local food scene, Tipperary and the surrounding towns offer excellent dining just a short drive away. In Cashel, The Bishop’s Buttery at The Cashel Palace Hotel offers a Michelin-starred dining experience steeped in history, set within the grounds of the former Archbishop’s palace. Chez Hans, also in Cashel, is a long-standing favourite, housed in a converted church and renowned for its warm, refined take on Irish and European cooking.
Closer to home, Bansha and the neighbouring villages offer cosy pubs and casual spots, perfect for a relaxed evening out or a bite after a day spent exploring the mountains and heritage sites nearby.
